There is a disconnect in the American story.

On May 30th, 1868 the first Memorial Day was celebrated in America. Students from the nation placed flowers at the graves of soldiers and there were observances in various states.

In December 2000, Congress established the White House Commission on The National Monument of Remembrance to help Americans remember and reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day. One of the reasons why Congress took this measure was as a result of a survey that was undertaken by the Commission in 1996. The political cl asses are quite happy with the status quo they enjoy in the political arena. Left middle rightright…… party politricks.
If 2/3rd of USA remain illiterate innumerate easier to “rule” the m asses.
The three R s in education have not changed over centuries…..

    READING
    RITING
    RMATIC.

if only 30% reach these standards USA is doomed/deemed a “failed” system.
Maybe USA should adopt the EU dream now……27 countries with free movement
    of goods services and peoples..

    Solution for EU refugee crisis.
Steer them towards Saudi Arabia where hundreds thousands of air conditioned
unoccupied tents await them. …..western allies refusing to support that regime by purchasing their oil. Hypocracy of our political cl asses.

Sad sad world…..only positive is am on my final lap of life.😇
