What kind of web do we want? – by Sir Tim Berners-Lee – video

Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web 25 years ago. So it’s worth a listen when he warns us: There’s a battle ahead. Eroding net neutrality, filter bubbles and centralizing corporate control all threaten the web’s wide-open spaces. It’s up to users to fight for the right to access and openness.

    Tim Berbers-Lee is a visionary……
His call for a magna-carta for web is indeed inspirational thinking.
‘Freedom’ in the true sense of the word where our world
is free to share ideas of what type of world we wish for…
    our dreams aspirations expectations etc
The man is an ‘intellectual’ genius not unlike you and me
who wish for a freer and fairer world.
    Our world is changing
    Our world must change
or its Armageddon ! Mental armageddon !

    My spin

Agree with you, Kamtan. I like his proposition to crowd-source a Magna Carta for the Web. We can add our voice by joining the Web We Want Movement at webwewant.org. I’ve noticed that there’s an event coming up in London on 27-28 September 2014. You might be able to check it out.

ThanPM Rose…will check it out as will be in UK
        until 2 October now.
Some are saying that the web is at its crossroads.
        censored – uncensored.
Personally I do not wish for a ‘regulated’ internet….
Information is power and a censored media only serves the interest of a few control freaks …the political class !
Freedom of information and a free press is the way forward !

        My spin
        2051pm 24 8 2014 in UK …time and date authenticates its me.

As for education in Guyana during Burnham s reign
multilateral schools am not aware of this….but wont surprise me if it was Burnham s hidden agenda in the ‘indoctrination’ of future generations ……
….did not Castro introduce a similar system in Cuba and was not Burnham a protege of Castro..politics of the times…
Burnham while in his country home in Victoria sent a message to my mother via one of his stooges (Gestapo) inviting my mother to join his PNC party…My mum was well respected village leader in GG..a predominately negro village….
my mum was not a political person but a very religious one.
Needless to say my mum was more a religious activist than
a political one….she politely declined the offer but doubt if Burnham ever received her rejection. Not long after that both my parents left Guyana for Canada….
My aunt who lived in the next village asked one of Burnham s
activist who was taunting her….what is worse than a jackass….
after some silence and blank faces….her answer ‘an educated
jackass’ ….these women had more nuts than their menfolk….

Sorry to suggest but check out Google on multilatrral school/schooling….or UG or UWI for answers….
