The Israeli Invasion and Gaza’s Offshore Gas Fields

War and Natural Gas: The Israeli Invasion and Gaza's Offshore Gas Fields

Five years ago, Israel invaded Gaza under “Operation Cast Lead”.

The following article was first published by Global Research in January 2009 at the height of the Israeli bombing and invasion under Operation Cast Lead.

In the wake of the invasion, Palestinian gas fields were de facto confiscated by Israel in derogation of international law

A year following “Operation Cast Lead”,  Tel Aviv announced the discovery of  the Leviathan natural gas field in the Eastern Mediterranean “off the coast of Israel.”

At the time the gas field was: “ … the most prominent field ever found in the sub-explored area of the Levantine Basin, which covers about 83,000 square kilometres of the eastern Mediterranean region.” (i)

Coupled with Tamar field, in the same location, discovered in 2009, the prospects are for an energy bonanza for Israel, for Houston, Texas based Noble Energy and partners Delek Drilling, Avner Oil Exploration and Ratio Oil Exploration. These Jewish Parasites do not belong in Palestine. First, they Stole the Palestinian Homeland, with the Blessings of the Racist U.N. and blockade Gaza. With American help they obtained their nuclear arsenal. Kick their asses out of Palestine and put them in Arizona!

Greed is a human curse we must live with.
Greed is best practiced when everyone benefits.
It is for the political class to make/change laws that
to discourage greed…..its that simple!! Maybe too simple
for the political class to grasp.
Most we can do as individuals is to demonstrate
unselfish behaviour publicly…and hope that it rubs off.

Public are like sheep and will follow
We must be the pastors of influence.

“Kick their asses out of Palestine and put them in Arizona!”

Wholeheartedly agree if it means stopping Israel from committing worse atrocities than Hitler. But the Americans don’t want them! Do you know that Israelis need a visa to visit America? They have been trying for years to have this policy removed but the Americans won’t budge. Interestingly, most European countries and some Asian countries are not required to have a visa to visit the US.

Americans are deathly afraid of their very own shadow (Israel). Scary. They’ve created a odious monster they now have to continue feeding. And congress just recently signed off on an additional $225 million in emergency funding for it.

As for the arming of the israelites ‘loan for arms’ the issue.
Arms sales have to be ‘sanctioned’ ‘licensed’ by government
therefore open to public scrutiny…..UN has access and the power to sanction an arms embargo….
Arms dealing is a very lucrative/competitive business
    today…..don’t see that changing.!!
Before we used spears and arrows
    today its A47’s

When Israel request it, Congress approves, and the President signs, Arms to Israel is a done deal. Who is to dare stop it. In the 67 Yan Kippur war? When Egypt seem to have had the upper hand, overnight the US provided bombers and weapons to Israel to turn the tide. Some claim the pilots may also have been Americans.

You are right Gigi. Those not familiar with the US political system don’t know the strangle hold Israel has on US politicians. Jewish money and vote in the US is a powerful influence on both parties, government, and US business. At one time the US had Israel doing all its dirty work abroad: coups in Africa, arm sales. All that must have stop. Now they call the tune.
That aside, I prefer working with moderate Jews than any other group of people.
American culture is business and money. Who better to associate with than people who are good at it.

I just thought that I should share this comment from Australia by Steve Seidman – Rose Bay, NSW

Mike Carlton must be congratulated for telling a simple truth – Israel’s justification of its latest frenzy of savagery against the Palestinians of Gaza is simply unsupportable. For years the IRA and ETA carried out murderous bombing campaigns against Britain and Spain respectively, killing hundreds of British and Spanish civilians. However, I don’t recall the Spanish or British armed forces bombing and shelling the Basque country or Catholic areas of Northern Ireland, killing hundreds of Catholic or Basque civilians, and blaming it all on ETA or the IRA on the basis that they were ‘‘hiding behind civilians’’.

Note: Mike Carlton just quit as a Columnist for Sydney Morning Herald – not because of his column, but because of his responses to the readers’ comments. His defense is that he could only stand so much of being called “Nazi”!
