Which country does the most good for the world? – Simon Anholt – video

Simon Anholt: Which country does the most good for the world?

It’s an unexpected side effect of globalization: problems that once would have stayed local—say, a bank lending out too much money—now have consequences worldwide. But still, countries operate independently, as if alone on the planet. Policy advisor Simon Anholt has dreamed up an unusual scale to get governments thinking outwardly: The Good Country Index.

In a riveting and funny talk, he answers the question, “Which country does the most good?” The answer may surprise you (especially if you live in the US or China).

This is a lecture on globalization 101. The business world (not the regular citizens)is way ahead on global issues.

This data collecting is just as questionable as the scoring used for countries. How do Britain, US, Canada, and several others have better scores given their actions of inflicting brutality, violence and destabilization in countries that have the worst scores? And Israel? For the past 47 years Israel has been carrying out systemic genocide on the native Palestinians, not to mention their involvement along with their allies in destabilizing and destroying Egypt, Syria, Iran, Iraq, among others. Sorry, but I’ll pass on the credibility of this information.
