Former President Jagdeo ill, flown overseas
Demerara Waves- February 23, 2014
Former President, Bharrat Jagdeo and his long-time friend, Dr. Ranjisinghi Ramroop left for Florida Friday night aboard a chartered flight.
The Lear Jet, bearing registration number N425SA, winged out with the two gentlemen aboard about 10:30 PM.
There has been speculation in some quarters that Jagdeo was severely ill and needed to travel. One usually reliable source told Demerara Waves Online News (www.demwaves.com) that Jagdeo and his doctors were not taking any chances because he might have contracted a bad bout of dengue hemorrhagic fever during a recent visit to India.
Calls to Jagdeo’s mobile number rang out and went to voicemail for a telecoms provider in a foreign country. He usually answers his phone even while roaming.
But the source said from all accounts the former Guyanese leader was already on the road to recovery.
Ramroop and Jagdeo have been very close during and after the latter’s term in office.

Former President, Bharrat Jagdeo is reportedly in a Florida Hospital, having landed in the United States of America early Saturday morning. Accompanying him is Dr. Ranjisinghi ‘Bobby’ Ramroop who was described as his best friend.

How long he had this condition was not ascertained.
What is known is that a privately-owned Lear jet out of Florida landed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) shortly after 21:00 hours Friday night.
His entourage comprising Dr. Ramroop and his security detail arrived at the airport at 22:00 hours. The aircraft took off for Florida at 22:30 hours.
This publication understands that the chartering of a Lear Jet, from Florida to Guyana and back for a medivac, would cost between US$35,000 (G$6M) and US$40,000 (G$8M).
On May 28, 2009, then President Jagdeo assented to the controversial Former Presidents (Benefits and Facilities) Bill bringing it into to law.
Under that Act, he would receive free medical attention and medical treatment, paid for by the state, or reimbursement of medical expenses incurred by him for the medical attention or treatment of himself and the dependant members of his family.
Jagdeo became Guyana’s youngest ever President when his predecessor Janet Jagan demitted office in 1999.
He served until the elections in 2011 when he was succeeded by President Donald Ramotar.
During his term in office Jagdeo he initiated many controversial projects, among them the Amaila Falls Hydro-electric Project, the Marriott Hotel project, the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) Expansion Project and the failed Skeldon Modernisation Project.

KARMA II – by NDTewarie
Today some don’t believe in aged karma
Because it is not in their cultural dharma
The Germans are guilty of this evil thing
When millions sat around and did nothing
As Adolph Hitler slaughtered millions of Jews in blazes
They’re sitting on the same soil with the bones and ashes
On the notorious Auchwitz-Berga-Dachau death camps
When Jews had their final showers by those evil scamps
And the so-called good Germans sat by and did nothing
How can they feel now that the world knows everything
What went on with all their weird experiment
On those men, women and children so innocent
If there’s a God by and under any denomination
Karma is there all over its Germanic demarcation
And believe me in karma such place is darn cursed
Whether the helpers were willing or were forced
And the world goes on as some try for peace
We’ve seen mankind’s desensitivity increase
Very few leaders now are or can do the following
Of Mahatma Gandhi, Mandella or Martin L King
Most are too busy in nepotism and corruption
Their souls are floundering in a boiling cauldon
Yet despite how much they work and sweat
They can never get out of their Karmic debt
So we agree that Karma comes back to bite
It will happen no matter how hard you fight
Mankind has to understand that it is all okay
Accept your life as is no matter what who say
The sick child is part of karma making its mark
Don’t blame yourself live your life sing like a lark
Make the most of what you’ve today without sorrow
Embrace the hurt and live it like there’s no tomorrow
Now Popey ketch eh rabbit!!!!!!!!
