Experts are sounding a new alarm about the effects of climate change for parts of the Caribbean — the depletion of already strained drinking water throughout much of the region.

Rising sea levels could contaminate supplies of fresh water and changing climate patterns could result in less rain to supply reservoirs in the coming decades, scientists and officials warned at a conference in St. Lucia this week.

“Inaction is not an option,” said Lystra Fletcher-Paul, Caribbean land and water officer for the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization. “The water resources will not be available.”

Some of the possible solutions include limits on development, increased use of desalination plants and better management of existing water supplies, but all face challenges in a region where many governments carry heavy debts and have few new sources of revenue.  [READ MORE]

Inuit Elders Tell NASA Earth Axis Shifted ….. The Inuit people inhabit the far northern reaches of the Canadian Arctic and have done so for centuries. The area they inhabit is almost continually frozen under a layer of permafrost. For months at a time, their days begin and end in darkness. A nomadic people, they built tents or teepees of caribou skin in warmer months, and lived in igloos in the winter. Previously, they were known as Eskimo. The word Eskimo is from a word in their language that means “eater of raw meat.” This group of Arctic dwellers has now been renamed Inuit, a word that means “the people.” Inuk is the word to describe one member of the tribe, or “one person.” The Inuit speak many different dialects that all stem from the Eskimaleut or Inuit-Aleut language. They are primarily hunters, relying on Arctic wildlife for their survival. They fish, hunt sea mammals, such as seals and walrus, and land mammals, like Arctic hare and caribou and use seal skin and blubber for clothing, tents, and fuel. Most of their diet is made up of raw meat as there is very little plant life in their environment.

California Governor Jerry Brown commenting on Republican-Tea Party, Senator Ted Cruz wilful ignorance pertaining to climate change:

“What he said is absolutely false,” Brown said. “Over 90% of the scientists who deal with climate are absolutely convinced that the human activity, industrial activity, generation of CO2, methane, oxides, nitrogen, and all the rest of those greenhouse gases are building up in the atmosphere. They are heat trapping. And they are causing not just warm, drought in California, but severe storms and cold in the East Coast. So it’s climate disruption of many different kinds. And that man betokens such a level of ignorance and a direct falsification of existing scientific data. It’s shocking and I think that man has rendered himself absolutely unfit to be running for office.”

A Former POTUS said that the Republican-Tea Party feels that they don’t have to get anything done – They just have to demonize the opposition and say whatever … and they just do – the GOP are flat out reckless with their words and deeds. They disgust me!!
