‘Bomb’ made from gas cylinder caused blast in Guysuco Scheme home

May 10 2013 –  KNEWS –   The killers of Cambio owner Totaram Mootoo and his wife Bhajmattie Mootoo  forced them to lie on their bedroom with hands duct-tapeed behind their backs, before setting off a crude home-made bomb, constructed with a gas cylinder, in the victims’  Guysuco Scheme, East Coast Demerara home on Thursday night.

A senior fire official told Kaieteur News today that a 20-pound gas cylinder was part of a device that caused the massive explosion and subsequent fire that gutted the two-storey property.       Continue reading

The American incarnation of Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and became an official U.S. holiday in 1914. Jarvis would later denounce the holiday’s commercialization and spent the latter part of her life trying to remove it from the calendar.
