Christian: the Lion – video

Christian: the Lion

Christian was a lion originally purchased by Australians John Rendall and Anthony “Ace” Bourke from Harrods department store of  LondonEngland, in 1969 and ultimately reintroduced to the African wild by conservationist George Adamson. One year after Adamson released Christian to the wild, his former owners decided to go looking for him to see whether Christian would remember them. He did, and with him were two lionesses who accepted the men as well.[1][2]

inspirational reading…I lived in southern spain with a wild boar and sow
and successfully bred them in captivity…
I used to allow them to return to the wild …at first they would return before dark…then eventually stayed out for 2 to 3 nights…but only the BOAR …the female was either scared of the wild boars or was more domesticated
as she remained on the farm….unfortunately I gave the piglets to some of my
local farmers but I think they might have been “roasted” although I did ask them
not to….wild pigs are a delicacy that is being hunted into extinction for trophies
    …their 4 big teeth…in my area of the Alpujaras…

On one of his returns my Boar had several scars from engaging in combat…with
his wilder/fitter friends…both of them now live higher up in the mountains with
my friends who have many more visiting their area….but they remain on his farm…preferring captivity than the wild. I visit them from time to time as they are breeding in captivity today…
