I endorse this move as it is long overdue…
Legalise soft drugs and regulate/tax it …it is the way forward…
Tobacco Alcohol Cafine are addictive yet legal …so why not marijuana….

Legalize all these mind altering drugs will help the State and the Law enforcement but I must add that we will need to es tablish in these countries more Lunatic Asylums instead of Hospitals!

    ha ha !
It all depends on the motive for introducing soft drugs…TAXATION or
FREEDOM of choice…..Tobacco cannot be sold to under 18 s
legally …the person selling it illegally can be prosecuted fined or jailed…
The reasons why it has not been “banned” completely is “economic”
    rather than “political”..
    1. TAX it generates
    2. Profits it generates
    3. it would go “underground”…

These issues are used to generate “populist” public opinions…by politicians
but the “devil is in the detail” of how the laws are drafted and enforced.
I will admit that I “smoked” at 15 but by the time I was 25 I had kicked the habit….
it was not illegal then…..and even if it was it would not have discouraged/stopped me from having a “puff” …. common sense approach is neccessary in drafting
    any laws…not popularistic political jiggery-pokery…

MARIJUANA IS A VERY ADDICTIVE DRUG….legalising it will decriminalise it
therefore it will not go underground….then it can be monitored and enforced.

there is a strong lobby for legalising it.

    today monday 12 nov …2 days later…
there is now a strong lobby for other states to follow…
legalising canabis has more plusses than minuses…lets hope OBAMA
    makes it federal law soon….
PEOPLE POWER….and the economic benefits and TAXES received will prove it a “winner”…hopefully TOBACCO will slowly become “obsolete”…
Hopefully the TAXES canabis generates will far outweight the TAXES lost from the demise of tobbacco….a filthy habit anyway…
    forever the optimist
