I cannot believe that Barak Obama would appear at such an important debate UNPREPARED!!! The man is too intelligent and experienced for that to have happened. I think it was a ploy to get Mit Romney to show his hand and then the President will pounce come the next two debates and leave him in the dust.

Helen: You might have added that he also has a wife that is a lawyer who would not let him show up unprepared – the powerful woman behind the great man!!

I have read all 4-articles and there is a common thread running through all of them. President Obama should have been aggressive; President Obama coulda said this, or coulda said that. Paul Krugman nailed it, I believe, when he wrote: “The truth is that Mr. Romney based his whole campaign for president on the belief that he could blur his way to the White House, mouthing right-wing slogans, fudging the math, and counting on voter disillusionment with Obama to do the rest. Now that this doesn’t seem to have worked, he has no plan B.”

Look: President Obama is a law professor; he knows how to prosecute a case. Yet, we are all speaking for him – including Gov. Romney – making his case today and every day. I believe President Obama is prosecuting his case to the USA Electorate – with our assistance – brilliantly.

The Republican and Tea Party leadership created the economic mess; and it is the Republican and Tea Party leadership who are perpetuating the economic mess in the USA from the moment they declared “we are going to make Obama a one-term President!” They have obstructed the President at every turn in the road. They would sit down with the Democrats and frame legislation, then go out and vote against it. I am told that we would normally have about one filibuster per year – that is to say, the opposition in parliament would babble and waste time when they know they will be defeated when the vote is called – once a year this occurs, normally. Yet, during President Obama’s term in office [since 2009] this occurred over 320-times. Just in case you believe this is a typographical error, I will write it again, a filibuster MORE THAN 320-times.

If any of you saw President Obama the very next day, after the debate, in Colorado, you would have heard him say, “…you owe America the TRUTH!” President Obama’s skills, in the debating arena on this particular night, were a stroke of brilliance, in my opinion. Governor Romney was lying to 60-million American people and President Obama let him.

What the authors were proposing was that President Obama interrupt the Governor and distract the audience – insult our intelligence to discern what we were hearing from Governor Romney and create a distraction for most of us. President Obama did not fall for that – Governor Romney came prepared to tell lies to the American electorate and President Obama let him. A month ago, someone said that it was too early to write-off Governor Romney – I say that it is too late to write off President Obama.
