Olympics: IOC investigating suspicious items in rooms of Caribbean athletes

LONDON — The International Olympic Committee’s anti-doping chief acknowledged that they are investigating suspicious items found in the rooms of many Caribbean athletes.
The IOC had been tipped off that these items may be responsible for the disproportionately superior results of the athletes from this region.
An IOC spokesman said in a statement, “We have opened an inquiry and have asked the various Olympic Committees of those  island nations for an explanation.”
“Samples of the items found have been seized and will be retained for testing. Photo evidence of the items have been passed to the chairmen of those Olympic Committees for their review, and to evaluate any further steps to be taken” the spokesman also stated..

It was also noted that athletes representing the Netherlands were also from this region.
Below is a copy of the photo evidence of the items found. This is a joke and not true
The IOC is not investigating the “evidence” shown below or any other “evidence”‘.
This is just a spoof on the reports that Usain Bolt and other Jamaican athletes eat lots of natural home grown foods and fruits; and especially the “ground provisions” as shown in picture.

Please give me a break. Why now? If those athletes were doing something illegal why would they leave evidence behind? Are they that stupid? I guess the investigating committe is finding ways to keep themselves employed.

      Hi Pauline Franklin:
Somehow I think this entry was intended to be a joke… actually it is

Leave evidences after the Olympics finished! This is a ploy of the committee’s chairman for refusing to accept Bolt as a legend, If anything at all, it was planted. He and others should not represent the Olympics anymore. It sems to me that they can be bought. I can clearly remember the faces expressions after Johnson beat Lewsis on the 100 meters not long ago. He knew that Johnson would be tested positive for they have planted the substances in his system. The Americans think they own the Olympics.

Hey guys lighten up, this was definitely meant to be a joke. Unfortunately, you cannot view the picture of the evidence that was allegedly found. It was green bananas, yam, coco, potatoes, plantains and dashenes. I guess all Caribbeans and all other nationalities that eat these food should be tested..lol

    Hi readers:
I have fixed the entry so you see the “evidence”
Sorry that the link to the picture was not working properly earlier
Have a laugh! Sorry to upset those who though it was true.

bwoy nah mek dem kina joke. me region drug free. c/bean athletes, powell et al would not have pull up wid injury. dem woulda fly with dem injury, not cry wid dem injury. merica de greatest druggists and chemists want fuh become de greatest sellists and dem ready fuh sink de c/bean wid dem squeal torpedoes. de athletes must watch wat they eat and drink even after de olympics coz 6 months after dem could call dem athletes to test them and say dat whatever drug dem find in de athletes stool, urine or blood was responsible for their sterling performances. remember America owns de olympics not GREECE.

34 Medals from this region is a great matter for a neglected area which lacks Sporting Acadamics as those of the greater regions. None the less our continued Investment in events on the Athletic field will continue to bring home the desired results as time has shown. Bravo to our sporting heroes and to those Ministers of Sports who have to fight in the Cabinet for allocations in their Sporting Arena. It is time the Caribbean set up their own Sporting Acadamies and let the Region shine, This is not meant to be a JOKE!

Dmitri Allicock, you should no longer comment on anything. You lost credibility when YOU quoted a Louise Bennett poem from her collection “Jamaica Labrish” as a Guyanese pork knocker love letter. You are an intellectual thief!!!

    • guyaneseonline  On 08/25/2012 at 4:19 pm

      Hello Mr. Brummell:
Mr Allicock did not claim that the Louise Bennett poem as his own work. Your attack on his integrity is misplaced and uncalled for. Have you contributed anything on this blog in the past? Unless you have something positive to contribute I think that you should continue your silence and not attack persons in the tone you have used here.

      For the record:
… Dmitri had advised me before the article was posted that he was awaiting two pork knocker letters that his mother had in a collection. It is obvious that he did not know the author of the letters (Loise Bennett was NOT the author as she was reporting these letters as well).
Dmitri has contributed a lot of unique material on this Blog and will continue to do so. An attack like this will not dissuade him in continuing his writings on Guyanese history geography and culture. Mr Allicock is a very positive man and we wish him all the best. If he sees your comment he may reply, but I had to clarify this issue based on my knowledge of the issues.

The Olympic Committee that is making a big blunder about the food that the
Jamicans were eating for the duration of time that they were there at the Olympic
may be they should start eating the same type of food or give it to their family
and see what what results they will aquire. The People Of The Carribbean
eat well so they proform well no one is stopping the others from doing so.
I am sure that the same set went to the last Olympic what did they eat something
different, no they were busy looking at the others that were cheating other
places. What a shame, the Committee should start eating good food and see
how they will do. What happen to the others from other country that won their
race did they look into what they eat.
IT IS A DOG EAT DOG COUNTRY OUT THERE.
If you cannot beat them why not join them. Sorry to be so blunt.
