Tutorial High Alumni Association (THAA) Toronto Chapter, proud host of Reunion 2011 wishes to acknowledge the strong support received. In turn we extend our thanks to everyone who contributed to the remarkable success of the program of events offered.
We can now report that having accounted for all relevant expenses the financial indications are equally positive. The records show that collectively the events generated the respectable sum of $32,642.36 (CDN) in net revenue.
Consistent with the Association’s raison d’être and stated objective of rendering assistance to our ‘alma mater’ our Executive Committee voted unanimously to dispose of the income in the following manner: $15,000.00 to bolster a Scholarship Fund in the name of Austin C. Castello, the school’s founder; $10,000.00 to the Castello Commemorative Fund and the remaining balance of $7,842.36 to the support of our Chapter’s on-going commitments to Tutorial High School.
THAA takes great pride in its role of being on the cusp of finally realizing the treasured objective of truly honoring the founder of our ‘alma mater.’ We offer sincere thanks to all THS Alumni Chapters, their membership, families and friends, whose generous and continuing support, have positioned us to make our first award. We are particularly mindful also of those individuals who have made substantial financial commitments.
We are confident that over time, our scholarship initiative will prove not only to be a significant use of the funds raised from Reunion 2011 and other social activities, but will serve also as a meaningful symbol of accomplishment and pride to Tutorial alumni everywhere.
