Looks like those parrots have immigrated to Canada, hope it was done legally! lol One of them sound like my brother Charlie.

This video was hilarious and I suspect that these parrots were raised in a loving and lively Guyanese home.

It is nice to hear some of the old things such as the parrots while i was growing up in Guyana we had a parrot in the Mazarunni called Laura, who use to say every morning ===” Laura want coffee” some one of the older folks taught her to say that

This is really very reminiscent of Guyana and takes me back to my childhood. It’s also extremely funny and shows the range of animal life that we can boast of in Guyana. The parrots certainly have quite a repertoire, from nursery rhymes to Christmas and New Year greetings. Very good for light entertainment.

Guyana came to fame or infamy for having talking birds since 1967 when Millie the maccaw was sent as a show piece to represent Guyana at Expo ’67. Millie was well trained but when she went to Canada she decided to “cuss everybody out” in fine Guyanese style and embarrassing the Guyana delegation.
These two are having a good time and they are indeed a good stress reliever and funny.

This is hilarious. The two parrots are a trip. They seem to be saying all sorts of things and even getting into the nursery rhyme syndrome – Mary had a little lamb and Three Blind Mice. Fantastic! I don’t know where you work up these things from. I will pass this on to Cecil.
    Thanks for this.

Many thanks for the humour. The parrots were funny and my grandchildren really loved them.

Thanks also for the old time shanto songs by Bill Rogers they really sent me down memory lane. I was priviledged to see Bill up close and personal as a youngster.
I shall be sending them on to other friends whom I’m sure would enjoy.

Best wishes for the Christmas season to you and your family. I hope the new year brings you and all Guyanese peace, good health, happiness and prosperity.

    Warmest regards

Talking about Millie the Macaw at the Expo 67 Pavilion in Montreal. Noelline forgot to mention that Millie was cussing in the French she picked up from the workers at the Pavilion.

These parrots are so entertaining. I grew up in Guyana but never heard any parrots say so much. They’re brilliant. I loved the “Help, help, Police. Murder murder, get out of here” bit. And “stupid”. Had me cracking up.
As for Millie. I heard she picked up lots of those cuss words from the sailors on the boat journey to Canada.
