Hello Cyril,
I do appreciate all the work which you and your group have done in promoting Guyana and Guyanese culture. I look forward to receiving the Newsletter every month.
I don’t know if anyone can help me find a copy of of ” Children’s story of Guyana”. It’s a bok that rich in Guyanese history. I tried the Library in Georgetown during my last visit home and was told that their only copy was not available to the public. Copies are not available at book stores in Georgetown. Maybe if I can get information about the Publisher, I can contact them.
Thanks
Stanley Cort
Hello Stanley:
Thanks for your compliments.
I will post your request on the Newsletter and Blog next month and see if there is a response….. Do you know the author?
In the meantime I will put your request in the COMMENTS for this newsletter and see if there is a response.
Regards…
Cyril
Good morning,
This is the first of your newsletters that I’ve seen and, to the detriment of my Saturday morning chores, I have been riveted to my computer screen. Thank you so much for this intelligent publication. To be simultaneously positive, realistic and engaging is quite an accomplishment for any publication and you have managed to accomplish that. I particularly enjoyed the diversity of opinions and topics.
I have lived in Canada for over 30 years and I have come to love this country very much but every now and then I am reminded of where my heart truly belongs – in Guyana. Thank you for that reminder once again. I look forward to your next edition.
Have the merriest Christmas and all the best in 2011.
Best regards,

Hello Vidya:
Thank you very much for the compliments.
I lived in Toronto for 30 years -1966-1996, so I know very well what you are talking about. I am glad that you like the publication… Look on the Blog for the older editions… I am sure that you would find them interesting.
Have a Happy Holiday Season and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
Cyril
Hello,
I would like to say hello and Merry Christmas to all my friends. I left Guyana in 1966 and have resided in California, U.S. I am now retired have four children, all grown, I grandaughter and two grandsons. I visited Guyana four times for emergencies. On my last trip a man stuck his hand thru the taxi window and ripped my chain off my neck.
I am trying to locate a few friends – The Kirtons, Mignon, Lynn and Monty. Monty went to England and Lynn married a fellow who worked for the electric company. I believe the girls worked at the Swan Laundry. I would like to hear from anyone thru my email. My maiden name was D’Oliveira. My dad had relatives in Stanley Place. I am trying to find out when and where he was born. I am related to Delph, Veira, Lee, Paris and others.
A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR, GOD BLESS.
Pam
Good one Cyril. Thanks.
I went to school with Vibert Cambridge and I have read most of Edgar Mittelholzer’s books.
I just skimmed the contents, but I know I will enjoy the read when I get around to it, in a day or two.
Cheers,
Mike
Hi Cyril
Many thanks again.
